I'm pleased to know you found it helpful. :) Oh, and i did mean 3:30 am...and that happens all the time around here. In fact, it's been years since I slept normally. On the other hand, I have logged countless hours with the sweetest people who show…

Dear Kim, Ooo, you have great ages for helping, but you also have all boys and THAT is a consideration. Boys can be totally good-willed...eager even...but, let's just say it out loud: they really are domestically challenged. :) In fact, the boy that…

Tell us about yourself
I'm a homeschooling mom (21 years) of 9 children. I've been happily married for 26 years to Jean, who is chair of the philosophy department at Benedictine College and helps me teach our children those things that would be more difficult for me. I sometimes give talks at conferences, write articles here and there, am working (suuuuper slowly) on a Great Books program for homeschoolers with my husband, another homeschooling project with Fran of Illuminated Ink, help a friend develop her saint's costumes business ("Our Coats of Many Colors"), and have a plan to write a book about our experience with childhood cancer. Adrienne (now 11) is going to illustrate it for me, and maybe contribute to it, too, and she should because she knows better than anyone what that time was like for her.
All projects move at a snail's pace because my main project is to be a good wife and mother and that takes up most of the day. My life is pretty idyllic: I spend my days with my favorite people who do not seem to see the faults I know I have, but instead love me just as God does....and I do my best to do the same.

Well, Maria, as you can see, it has taken me even longer to respond! My excuses are 5 little ones: the 4 running around creating chaos and the one in utero(I'm 18 weeks, hooray!). We just finished our 7th week of homeschooling as well. It's been going fairly well. Catherine does Kindergarten, the twins (4) do some preschool, and Joseph (2) sits at the table and cuts endless pieces of paper and plays with play-doh. I'm using CHC this year and I am so glad because it is simple and I don't have to think about what I am going to do too much. Then when I am having a good week, I can add in things. I researched for so long, but when it came time to choose, I still wasn't sure, so I picked what seemed most attractive to me. So far, so good. I'll have to check out your website. It is always interesting to see what other people are doing. And fun to find new resources. Wow, I can't believe your kids are getting out in the world. It seems like they should still be little like when I was at BC. I remember Michelle and Angela the most, they were so bright and articulate it made a big impression on me and forever left with me with a good impression about homeschooling. How did the overhauling go? I need some of that myself, well not me personally, the house. :)

I'd better go figure out dinner!
