Hi Maureen, my youngest is seven and she has Down syndrome. I am preparing her for Holy Communion by taking her to adoration and Mass as often as possible and reading wonderful books, like Seton's "My Jesus and I" and the Catholic Treasure Box serie…

I just got back into doing the Windsor Pilates DVD. Twenty minutes and I feel great! It's tough, but if you are short for time and don't like jumping around, Pilates does cardio and stretching, and strength training. Very efficient and the cost of a…

Maybe those ideas get more play in the book, but I see her character as flawed, hopelessly infatuated with Uriate, not unlike Bella in "Twilight" in the same machochistic fashion. She is no role model, which to my view, destroys their postion on tho…

I just wrote a lengthy post that I accidentally deleted. Ugh. I'll try to summarize what I wrote before. Overall, I liked the book. It has a subtlety that is often lacking in contemporary "Catholic" fiction. Rather than beating the reader over the…

Intention is important, but it is not everything. Some of these comments border on relativism. If I feel good about such and such an activity, then it must be OK. Our Church is called Mother for a reason, and we must learn to appreciate her wisdom e…

Great, I'd like to hear a woman's opinion. At first, I thought, "oh no, a complicated spy novel, with lots of acronyms to remember!" but about three chapters into the book, the characters had me intriuged, then fascinated. They seemed like people I…

I just requested it from my library a couple of weeks ago. All of the copies are already checked out (which is a good thing, I think), but I'll post again after I've read it.

I review books, and I usually only accept books which sound promising, sincemost times, my only payment is a copy of the book. I was requested by an editor to review "Angels and Demons" in order to rebut some of the outrageous insults to Catholicism…
