Heidi, thanks so much for the response! That's basically what we have been doing too. I wouldn't say that I'm a raw food fanatic or anything like that, but we have incorporated raw foods much more into our diet. My husband is the smoothie king and t…

Never heard of a raw party. I did hear Carol Alt speak about raw diet on Dr. Oz's radio show. I honestly don't remember much. I think it would be highly challenging for me to do do a raw diet but probably eating raw is good for you. I think I read r…

I want to homeschool as well, and have a less than supportive husband. He wants the kids to do sports and not the the "weird" homeschool kids...I keep praying that he will change his mind as well. We know the Holy Spirit is powerful, so good luck!…

No thank YOU! I have been neglecting this site and my house shows it. It's amazing how I thought all of this stuff took me away from my work. But it actually kept me on track!!

I am the same way! I don't like to cook because I never was really taught how to do it. I have tried to plan meals as well, but sometimes life get the best of us. I will try to be better to fulfill my vocation as a wife and mother. Thanks for the in…

If your main motivation is not money, then perhaps volunteering your special education expertise might work well for you. A quick phone call to you parish, or other churches in your area might open a door. You can speak with the religious education…

Hi Lindsey!! Thanks so much for your comment, even though it didn't answer my question. I don't mind! Since I have written this post, I have fallen away from the raw diet thing. I too cook whatever is easiest. I picked up a book I bought a long tim…

That's something I have pondered as well. The reason I haven't done much with my Creative Memories business is because I want to be home when my hubby is home in the evening. Nothing seems to be right for me!! :o) Thank you so much for the reply Je…

Karen, Since you like to teach and don't have a big place, get the license you need and maybe begin by just offering one on one tutoring. Maybe you even go to homes of your students a couple evenings a week and this way you get out of the house for…

I'm currently a stay-at-home mom of three. I used to be a special education teacher, but I don't miss the rushing around that a full-time job gave me. I have been home for about 4 1/2 years now and love being a wife and a mom!

Our Hope Is In You

Saint Thomas More

May Your kindness, LORD, be upon us;
we have put our hope in You.
Psalms 33:22

When I read this passage this morning, I immediately thought about our own nation, the United States of America. I think about the God-less state we are in and wonder where we will stand when our Lord comes to judge us all again. Abortion, murder, euthanasia, artificial creation of life, the prevalence of fornication,… Continue

Much Love in Reserve

The Most Sacred Heart of Jesus

With joy you draw water
at the fountain of salvation... Isaiah 12:3

The devotional for today comes from Living Faith:

Imagine the difference between those who enjoy the brightness of the sun and those who have only the scant light of a lamp. The ones who are in the sunshine have no jealousy of each other. They know there is enough light for everyone... Lamplight is limited and often insufficient. Others envy the one who has it....… Continue

Faithbooking

I have been a consultant with Creative Memories for almost 2 years now. I don't have a business with it or anything like that, but I love getting the discount on their products for one of my favorite hobbies. I just recently learned about this new thing the co-founder Rhonda Anderson does called Faithbooking. It's really quite awesome and I have done a little bit of it myself. I wanted to share the information with you on my new blog I just started.… Continue

from the desk of Gabby

I took some time out yesterday, time out of my "me" time, to spend with my 7 yo daughter. She loves to read and when we were cleaning out some stuff yesterday, she found her book, Just Like Mary. Her face was glowing and she couldn't wait to read it. So after lunch and the other kids were down for their nap, we sat down, read three chapters and then wrote three paragraphs about what she read. Here are hContinue

Have a good day and God bless you.

Hi Karen!

Thank you for joining the prayer group. I hope you enjoy it and do not be shy to add your favorite prayers and/or your prayer intention. I will be very happy to pray for anyone who asks.

Trying to get use to this site. It is bursting with young families and children... very exciting. I have grandchildren but they live out of state.. so I see them a couple of times a year.

Well.. hope to talk a little later on. Maryland, some tell me, is a very pretty state. I have never been. Am living in Miami. Getting very hot here - hit 100 the other day... needless to say, I'm inside! :)

Later....

Hi-

Just a little hello to let you know I made a prayer group so that all may pray for each other as well as our own family and friends.

Prayers are the best gift we can give each other and it is a gift from God also. It is our only manner to touch the heart of and communicate with the Divine.

So, feel free to join us and add your own prayers and favorite meditations.

God Bless!

Hi Karen,
"Bible Belt" is an informal term for the area of the U.S, mainly the South, in which evangelical Protestantism ("Bible-alone" denominations such as Baptist and Church of Christ) are a dominant part of the culture, and where us Catholics are a very small minority. I guess I ought to have called it "Catholics in the Bible Belt". In any case, I cancelled the group; I was a little nervous about how it would be received, and your response kind of confirmed my hesitatation. So... congratulations and welcome to the Catholic Church! I just love this Faith & Family group!
