Family Altars in the home

I love seeing the beautiful pictures posted here! Just beautiful. We don't have a family altar as of yet. I've been praying that my husband won't mind eventually if I put in a garden statue of Mary…

Are any other women here the only Catholic in their house?

I pray they will go back with you. Maybe it will take awhile....when Jesus really gets through to their hearts that He is there in The Eucharist...who could resist? :-) Thank you for sharing, I know…

Gluten free food

LOL, yes I would agree with that! I will have to look for the Health Valley soups. I know a lot of broths and bouillons have gluten. College Inn has gluten on the ingredient list. I was happy to find…

"To encounter but once the Heart of the Lord Jesus is to never forget Him, and to be forevermore taken by love of this sweet Redeemer. Yet many will not allow their hearts to be conquered by the good Jesus because they fear the cost of being in love with Him; they fear the sacrifices that it would entail. For this reason it is necessary to have a pure heart...a heart detached from pride and from the world, so that nothing might keep one from surrendering to the love of Jesus. For it does hold one captive--this love--, yet whoever surrenders to it would never wish to be freed from its chains." ~ St. Faustina

Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great

found this at a website for Jesse Romero~ I thought it was important to pass along!

Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great

Our Lord dictated the following prayer to St. Gertrude the Great to release 1,000 Souls from Purgatory each time it is recited:

"Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own… Continue

Stones to Jewels

This poem came out of a picture I saw in my mind one day when I was praying. I hope it will encourage you as Jesus encouraged me! Our prayers and praises matter to Him. His kindness is so amazing.
~Stones to Jewels~

The words I find to praise you can never be enough
They drop like stones,
or fall like dry leaves upon the ground.
But then I see you
You bend to gather them with your precious hands,
holding them close to your heart.
Then, smiling,
you beckon me closer.
Stretching your arms towards… Continue

Jesus' Love for us

A friend found this anonymous poem online. I wanted to share it, I think it's so beautiful! I hope people will be touched by these words about Jesus' love for us.

When love beckons to you, follow him,

Though his ways are hard and steep.

And when his wings enfold you yield to him,

Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you.

And when he speaks to you believe in him,

Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden.

For even as love crowns you so… Continue

Hi Amylisa,

What a wonderful quote from Sister Faustina. I can tell you are smitten with Jesus' love....

Thank you for remembering my countrymen in the Philippines. I've been praying for them also. I'm here in Virginia and we barely have any family left there. But my heart aches for them. Thank you for remembering.

I'll be checking out your website too. Are you a singer also? I produce slideshows as a legacy for my children.

I love poetry (my grandfather was a poet) and I'm also a writer, author and speaker on simplifying one's life. My website is www.projectnazareth.info .

Could you add me in as a friend. Would love to see more of your poetry.

Peace,
Abby
