LOL, yes I would agree with that! I will have to look for the Health Valley soups. I know a lot of broths and bouillons have gluten. College Inn has gluten on the ingredient list. I was happy to find that the boxed, Rachael Ray Chicken Broth is gl...

Ooh, one more thing: if you're planning on using condensed soups for casseroles and/or crock pot meals, Health Valley's Organic Cream of Mushroom soup is GF. You can also make these condensed soup bases, but I'm a "can-buyer" if I can find it...ma...

The name of the cookbook is Make it Fast, Cook it Slow. It is a great resource. We have tried several recipes and there have been no complaints at dinner. :)

No, the only thing I've read from a children's book that even came close, but it really isn't, is how they had to share tools and things, because they didn't bring a whole lot.

Arwen Mosher: The breakfast of champion eaters | My husband is out of town, and the kids and I are staying with my parents through Tuesday. My sister is home from Colorado for Thanksgiving break. It’s Miriel’s first time home in three months, so it was a given that she would request Dad’s specialty for Sunday breakfast. These potato pancakes are …

Robyn Lee: The Story of St. Perpetua DVD Giveaway | The feature product on this week’s Faith & Family podcast is The Story of St. Perptua DVD. Tim Drake says that “few stories are as inspiring as the riveting, true account of St. Perpetua, the young Christian mother.” Go listen to his review and enter a chance to win one of …

Rebecca Teti: behind the scenes of a creepy performance | Here’s a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the making of Radio Theatre’s The Screwtape Letters. Looks appropriately disturbing—and wonderful—doesn’t it? W/ a polite nod to CMR—I’d never heard of this before.

Hemlines and Happiness

Hallie Lord: Fashion Friday vol. 4 | Every so often I stumble upon an item of clothing that I am so delighted by that I want to own it in every color and pattern available to me. Not that I actually get to indulge that desire, of course, but you know you’ve unearthed a treasure when you get that itch. I …

Deal Hunter

Rachel Balducci: Black Friday: yes or no? | A week from today will be the day after Thanksgiving—Black Friday, that day where hordes of bargain-hunting maniacs flock to the stores in search of extra-low prices. I have never gone shopping on that day—I’ve seen enough pictures to know it’s not my thing. But I have friends who get up every year …

Handmade Christmas: Toddler Wool Felted Rosary

I love the busy, joyful, hectic time of Advent; with the fur, feathers and flour flying, everyone singing, and the lights and candles reminding us that His birthday is so near.

One of the things that adds a lot of joy (and craziness) to my Advent is the annual string of all-nighters necessary to finish crafting handmade Christmas gifts. Keeps me out of the stores, edifies my spirit when I pray for and think of the recipients, and adds to the anticipation. Do they love them? I don't know for sur… Continue

Theology of the Body for children

Hello Ladies. Our Catholic school principal asked me to help improve our traditional 5th grade "Health" curriculum to include more solid Catholic teaching and a Theology of the Body approach. I am a certified Health Educator who is now a Family Life/Youth minister well trained in TOB. I have taught the TOB for teens...I am very comfortable and excited to do this. I went looking for comprehensive resources and am not getting anything from the TOB websites and don't know what else to search under.… Continue

Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great

found this at a website for Jesse Romero~ I thought it was important to pass along!

Prayer of St. Gertrude the Great

Our Lord dictated the following prayer to St. Gertrude the Great to release 1,000 Souls from Purgatory each time it is recited:

"Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Most Precious Blood of Thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own… Continue
